Work Train

This 1966 collage is a wonderful example of Beardens work during the sixties. It is unique in many ways. In addition to the chains on her wrist which suggests that tied to her circumstances, the various shades of blue connotes both the fact that she is experiencing the blues as well the influence of the black and white photomontages which Bearden created in 1964 and 1965.
